![]() As a newly-minted parent-of-a-teenager, it has been made very (VERY) clear to me that THE gift of choice from the 'rental units is gift cards. And not from Starbucks as shown in my sample, sigh. I-Tunes, Amazon, Justice, yes. Starbucks? Sur la Table? Not so much. Ah well. (See how I dropped in my own sneaky preferences there? I'm so sneaky...) I figure if we must succumb to the siren call of the ubiquitous gift card, we can still satisfy our creative callings by dressing them up a bit! This year's well-dressed gift card will come in this simple - but always cute! - "latched" card holder - which still has room for a heart-felt note (perhaps of warning on what NOT to spend it on? Just sayin'...) on the inside. We CAN have it all! Santa wants it that way, too! Almost to the end of the Gifts Class offerings - can't wait to see you all!

![]() Gift #4 for the December 13 Gifts Class is this catchy little windowed cookie box - complete with a dozen homemade pizzelle cookies for you to munch or give away! (We're having Orange Pecan with Cranberry pizzelles this year, by the way - they ARE in there, I swear~!) I really wanted us to do a windowed box so we could use those awesome flocked window sheets that came in the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP this year - I can never quite figure out how to use them on cards, but they are MADE for windowed boxes and treats! This simple box is a great introduction on how to make any size box and lid to suit your fancy - in a snap! Maybe you'll make different sized cookies to give away than I did, or ooo, CHOCOLATE, yes! Or, ahem, Peanut Butter Meltaways that come here from a certain neighbor we know, or cream-filled Ladylocks, or Macarons, or, well, see how we are about cookies around here? The more, the merrier! ![]() OK, let's just put it out there - Stampin' Up! makes SUCH awesome fabric, and I keep buying it, and, well, uh, what do I do with it now? Ladies, this is the year we're going to tackle the Designer Fabric! That's my New Year's resolution for sure! As a warm up for my (our!) shiny new resolution to use fabric more in 2013 is this tasty little cup cozy, adjustable to fit any cup size of your choice! This project uses last year's holiday fabric called Candy Cane Christmas, still available in the Clearance Rack. Yes, that is actual machine stitching you see, I will walk you through it - it's a snap! And did anyone notice how I only picked buttons that have 2 holes, so you don't have to wrestle with 4? See how I love you? Don't forget - RSVP if you haven't already! ![]() Here's another of the six projects we'll be doing in our "Gifts" class next week - a dramatic Tulle Flower Pin a la Laura Haffke of La Dee Dah Day! Our version is a bit simplified, but if you want to study up by watching her video ahead of time, make sure to go check it out at the link above! The pin will have this accompanying gift box as well, with its own small tag, so you have a gift all set to go! You'll be able to do your pin in Crumb Cake, as shown, or in Cherry Cobbler... Super simple - I promise! ![]() We're going to have so many awesome projects in our last class of the year next week that I thought I'd show off some of the individual projects for you to get a better look. So, here's our first "Gifts" project - a set of Four Fancy Tags, in a Fancy Favor box, to use or give as a sweet little gift! As you can see, they feature the Scentsationally Yours stamp set as well - cute cute cute! And a snap to put together with the awesome framelit set that goes with! There's more to see, but don't forget to RSVP for Thursday, December 13, 6:30 pm! ![]() Class sure was a blast tonight - and we didn't even glue all our fingers together or anything! Yay! Here's a quick shot of the stockings I made for all the ladies - each one personalized with their initial, and holding a little Ghiardeli square. It can double as an extra ornament after all the work we did on the first four! Here are the instructions from tonight's class as well! Let's get merry! And don't miss this new promo - just in time for more holiday treats - Holiday Treat Bundles! Good til January 2! ![]() So, here are some samples of the 4 ornaments we will be doing in next week's "Holiday Ornaments" class! I wanted to do a mix of simple and ornate, quick and a bit of time, and 4 very different styles, as well as show off some of the awesome Holiday tools from the catty before we move along to Spring! I think we've achieved that! We'll talk about ways to adapt these ornaments to any color arrangements you like, how to use stamping instead of DSP for even more POP and how to go from here to making the lovely creations on the front and inside the Holiday Mini catalog! I promise that you'll be happy with your results (though you might have slightly sticky fingers here and there!) Glue guns will be a must for this class, so make sure to bring one you're comfortable with! Everything else will be supplied, along with yummy treats, of course! Class is on Thursday, Nov 29, 630 pm, my house, and will cost $20. As always, make sure to RSVP, so I can be sure to prep enough! (And don't forget to save the date for Dec 13, the last class of the year for 6 "Cute & Quick Gifts!") ![]() Can you imagine being married for 50 years??? I have to say - there are definitely days that I can't {wink wink}, but I can always dream of it! These favors were commissioned by a friend of mine for their parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary - wowee! I'm in awe! I made 32 of these in a mix of fall colors, using papers provided by them to coordinate with the table decor at a snazzy family banquet planned for the celebration - so nice to be part of it! The saying is a Polish one (as is the family) - meant to convey good wishes, good luck and long life, perfect for a 50th Anniversary! There's a traditional song for it that you can hear here, as I understand it, you can't make the toast without someone breaking into the song! Congratulations! (And Sto Lat!) Rogue papers; Champagne Glimmer Paper; A Slice of Life (retired) stamp set; Bitty Banners framelits; 1 3/4 Scallop Circle punch; Timeless Type Junior sizzlets. ![]() Oh my GOSH, my little chocolate treats for the ladies tonight were SO FUN to make - I've been beside myself waiting to trot these out to show! So clever, I know I'll be making some version of these for many occasions to come! Here's a great video on how they go together, by Kay at Stampin' to Share - super easy! Tonight's Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread recipe can be found here at Our Best Bites, as usual! And here's tonight's class instructions as well! Perfectly Preserved & Itty Bitty Banners stamp sets; Naturals White CS; Orchard Harvest DSP; Cannery Set & Bitty Banners framelits; cotton twine; Lucky Limeade ink. ![]() I can not TELL you how relieved I am that the Jar Class is finally here! It has taken everything I have to keep pacing myself, and even so, I have like 6 more projects we COULD do - I had to settle for these three! First up is a gorgeous (if I do say so myself) fall luminary antique jar, with ribbons and leaves galore! Next is a modern "wide-mouth" jar (I'm going to start using that phrase more, I swear) filled with 2 each of 5 different tags, JUST for using on "jarred" gifts. Well, ok, you could use them on other gifts, too, but I'm telling you, this project and a case of jam jars could really set you up! And then, if you're not too tuckered, a simple card featuring a sweet blossom in a jar vase - quick and charming! (And oh-my-stars I can't wait for you to see your treats! EEEeeeEEEeee!) ![]() So, class is one week away, Thursday, October 25, 6:30 pm at my house. Make sure to RSVP, so I can keep the "jar count" going! Bring your favorite paper snips and basic adhesive, I should have everything else you'll need, and will have yummy snacks, too! See you soon! |
